Agribusinesses and farms may be eligible for benefits through the Empire Zone Program, which was developed by New York State to foster the creation of jobs, enhance the property tax base and encourage investment into Zone businesses and properties. State and local benefits include investment and wage tax credits, sales tax exemptions and refunds, property tax credits and other incentives.
